Halloween Food Day 6: Deviled Monster Eyes

Today’s post is more of a method than a real recipe, since everyone seems to have their own favorite recipe for making deviled eggs.

Boil the desired number of eggs and make the filling from any recipe you use and add some green or blue food coloring.

I read an article somewhere once that said that adding a splash of vinegar to the water you boil the eggs in will make them easier to peel.  I tried it and it worked!  No more weird, deformed egg whites!

Put a few drops of red food coloring on a small plate or dish.  Dip a toothpick in the food coloring and paint on red squiggles to make the whites look “bloodshot.”

Fill eggs with the green tinted filling.  Add  pimento stuffed olives for the pupils.
